For the City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings continued their second 10-game win streak this season by rolling the Dells Ducks 7-0 and 9-0, Jan. 29-30. The Riverkings scored more goals than the Dells Ducks had total shots at South Wood County Recreation Center.

Captain Cole Creger recorded his 100th career assist. Goalies Kyle McNair and Riley Allen both recorded shutouts with one being Allen’s first Junior A shutout. That’s 120 minutes of playtime with no goals allowed.

Forward Sander Willard scored two goals the first game and an assist for three points on the weekend. Defenseman Trenton Skaggs had six assists for six points in two games. Stevens Point native Trey Zagrzebski scored one goal and two assists each game, for a total of six points.

The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings controlled the weekend in a team confidence booster, as they moved onto a big two-game series with a regular season division championship on the line.
