Riverkings sweep Vipers in first round of playoffs

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings swept the first round of the playoffs, winning both games against the Rochester Vipers, 15-3 and 8-3 respectively, March 5-6.
Alternate Captain Nathan Bottles had four goals in the first game, with two assists for six points in one game, and eight points on the weekend.
Captain Jordan Stear had six points on the weekend, as he led the USPHL in defenseman scoring.
Captain Cole Creger had six points this weekend as well, with four assists in the first game alone.
With the sweep, the Riverkings (No. 1) were matched with the Minnesota Blue Ox (No. 4), in a best of three series at South Wood County Recreation Center, March 12-14.
The Riverkings have a lengthy track record against the Blue Ox losing the first two of the season but then winning the next three games for a 3-2 record.
