Food distribution to be held April 23
For the City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – On April 23, 1,500 boxes of food will be given away in the Home Depot parking lot in Wisconsin Rapids.
The food boxes are free to all area residents and will include fresh fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.
Distribution begins at 11:30 a.m. and continues until all boxes have been distributed.
This event is part of the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box program. The USDA program purchases food from farmers to provide relief to families. Distributors package these products into family-sized boxes, then transport them to food banks and community and faith-based organizations that serve Americans in need. Since May 2020, this program has provided over 156,000,000 boxes of fresh produce and dairy products to disadvantaged Americans across the country.
The Wisconsin Rapids event is hosted by Light of Christ Church in Wisconsin Rapids, Hay Creek Companies in Pittsville, and Church at Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids.
