PORT EDWARDS – A new exhibit at the Alexander House will feature the works of Marie App and Michael Harbridge.
The show will open May 30, 1-3 p.m. with beverages offered outdoors and artists present.
“Marie App exhibits diverse approaches to fine art collage. The show illustrates various techniques to push the boundaries of art and explores a wide range of ideas. Dominant themes are musicians, women, and nature. Of the 30 artworks exhibited, 10 are Marie’s latest watercolors. Marie is committed to the idea of continually changing and growing,” an Alexander House release stated.
“I don’t want to be painting the same things five years from now, but something new that I can’t anticipate today,” App stated.
“Michael Harbridge is an artist working in all forms of fired arts. He has a full state of the art teaching studio attached to his home in Iola, Wisconsin, where he hosts workshops and creates his art. He teaches workshops around the country and does online workshops to students around the world. His passions are clay and raku firings. He has developed a method called clay puzzling that creates unique textures and opening with the use of clay coils and pieces of clay,” the release added.
The exhibit will continue through July 6.
The Alexander House is open Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 1-4 p.m., or by special appointment.
