Dime and Dollar Thrift Store relocating to Wisconsin Rapids

STEVENS POINT – The Dime and Dollar Thrift Store in Stevens Point will soon relocate to Wisconsin Rapids.
“We are on the move and are soon to close our doors there and relocate to Wisconsin Rapids,” said Jan Peronto, current manager of the Dime and Dollar Thrift Store in Stevens Point.
The store will move into the space at 1351 Eighth Street South, in Wisconsin Rapids, and will mark their grand opening on June 12.
“Dime and Dollar is a non-profit organization that started about 34 years ago and currently has a store in Wausau as well. The organization began to generate funds for Northland Lutheran High School in Mosinee like many other thrift stores were doing across Wisconsin at that time. Over the years, the two stores combined have generated several million dollars toward tuition assistance. We have recognized the need to serve the Wisconsin Rapids community and are looking forward to opening our doors in mid June,” added Peronto.
“Since all of our workers are volunteers and all of our inventory is based on donations from the community, we are able to help fund the operations at Northland directly.
“The community may begin bringing donations of household items, clothing, furniture, toys, shoes, etc., beginning on May 26 from noon until 6 p.m. I am working to develop more donation drop off dates and times prior to opening.”
