For the City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – River Riders Bike Share will re-launch their program for the 2021 season.

With a new partner, River Riders Bike Share will provide community members and visitors with an easily accessible way to get around and explore the area.

The bike share program is set to roll out in early June, with 30 cruiser-style bikes available at six locations in Wisconsin Rapids.

New this season, 20 cruiser style bikes will be available at four locations in the Marshfield area. In addition three accessible bikes, two tandem side-by-side bikes, and one tricycle are available.

Wisconsin Rapids Locations
Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Zoo
Quality Foods West Grand Avenue
Veterans Memorial Park, across from the clock tower
McMillan Memorial Library
Henry Demitz Park
South Wood County White Sands Beach

Marshfield Locations

In 2014, the River Riders Bike Share program was established by community members who saw the need for additional transportation and recreation options in Wisconsin Rapids. Between 2014 and 2017, community-donated bikes were made available at multiple locations and over 700 bike rides were logged.

In 2018, River Riders Bike Share partnered with Zagster, Inc. to bring the first app-based bike share program to our area. Unfortunately, due to COVID, Zagster, Inc. notified their partners that they had to discontinue their bike share programs. Over the next few months, new avenues were explored to bring back this innovative transportation and recreation option.

In partnership with Koloni, Inc. River Riders Bike Share will re-launch the program for the 2021 season.
