Wisconsin Rapids Downtown Farmers Market returns in June
For the City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Downtown Farmers Market will open again twice a week this summer with plenty of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, crafts, and a few of our favorite hot food vendors as well.
“Returning to the First Avenue South location between West Grand Avenue and Goggins Street, you will see some of your favorites like the Amish vendors, Scenic View Bakery and D & C Organic, and the ever-popular Vang Family Eggrolls,” a release from organizers stated.
“The market will be open every Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.,” according to Mai Thao, program coordinator for the Wood County Health Department, and a manager for the Wisconsin Rapids Downtown Farmers Market.
Sarah Krubsack, WIC Community Outreach and a WRDFM co-manager, will be present most Thursdays so WIC program participants can stop by the Farmers Market’s Managers tent – the orange tent near the corner of Johnson Street and First Avenue South – to pick up their WIC benefits.
“We will also be welcoming back various other community organizations and popular entertainers like the McMillian Memorial Library, Safe Kids Wood County, Solarus, and the popular KC Twist Balloon Creations. Joining us this year will be the Lincoln High School Mariachi Band, and other musicians throughout the summer,” the release added.
