Stenerson takes Silver Gloves championship

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Boxing Club member, Will Stenerson captured a Midwest Silver Gloves tournament championship, held Aug. 7-8 in Hinkley, MN.

Will grabbed a 3-2 split decision win over Samuel Hale of North Dakota in the 132 lb. bout. This was Will’s second Midwest championship in two years.

John Stenerson lost a close decision to Morgan McDonald of Minneapolis in a 106 lb. championship bout.

The previous weekend, Gabe Oetken won the Wisconsin State Golden Gloves championship in Middleton, with a decision win over Sikander Adil in a 114 lb. novice bout.

The team’s other boxers – Luke Maher, Tyler Schech, and Isaac Oetken – lost by decision in the preliminaries.
