Handgun found at Washington School soccer fields

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – On Oct. 2, shortly before12:30 p.m., the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department received a call regarding a handgun that was found in the women’s bathroom at the Washington School soccer fields.
The handgun had been turned into the concession stand attendants on the grounds.
“The handgun was loaded and in a holster,” a release from the department stated.
“A Wisconsin Rapids Police Department officer took possession of the handgun.
“The owner called in and identified herself as the owner of the gun. She possessed a valid concealed carry permit. Charges were referred to the District Attorney’s office for (the) carelessness of her actions.”
