Port girls fall to Almond-Bancroft

PORT EDWARDS – The Port Edwards girls basketball team fell to Almond-Bancroft, 47-23, at home on Dec. 9 in what started out as a see-saw battle.
Port Edwards had the lead at 10-6 with 5:30 to go in the first half. The Blackhawk’s offense would stall out and not score again until about the 10-minute mark in the second half.
Almond-Bancroft went into halftime with a four point lead and outscored Port Edwards 33-13 in the second half.
Lexie Dernbach led all scorers with 13 for the Eagles. Taylor Martin led the way for the Blackhawks with eight.
Others scoring for the Blackhawks include: Melanie Sillars, 6; Alliyah Ruiz, 4; Felicity Clouse, 3; and Dakota Bares, 2.
Port Edwards moved to 0-6.
