Riverkings sweep Steele County Blades

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings completed a weekend sweep of the Steele County Blades at home, Jan. 28-29, extending their winning streak to six.
Friday night’s game was full of excitement as the Riverkings secured the 3-2 win, in a shootout, with the help of Reece McDonald, Jordan Stear, and goaltender Riley Allen. Goals were score by Colby Brett and Jack Kerich.
For the Saturday game, the Riverkings came ready to play as they held a four goal lead for much of the game, finishing the game 4-1, after allowing a 5-on-3 goal late in the third period. Goals came from Jordan Stear, Reece McDonald (power play), Adam Brzezicki, and Grant Newcomer.
After the successful weekend sweep, the Riverkings improved to 26-6-4 on the season.
