WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Hundreds gathered to help raise money for Special Olympics Wisconsin during the 2022 Special Olympics Wisconsin Polar Plunge on Feb. 5 at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
All proceeds from the event help fund the Special Olympics and athletes in the North Central Wisconsin area.
This year saw seven locations through the state available to plungers looking to dip their toes into the icy dive pool for a good cause. According to Special Olympics Wisconsin, the events see around 1,000 to 2,000 participants each year.
First responders also took their annual plunge at this year’s event, showing their support for the program and the Special Olympics.
