WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Jazz Orchestra will be in concert at McMillan Library’s newly redesigned Fine Arts Center on March 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The 16-piece ensemble will play music by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Thad Jones, along with contemporary composers from Wisconsin and beyond. The band members are professional musicians from central and northeast Wisconsin.

This will be McMillan’s first concert since March 2020 and the first since the theater was redesigned. It now has new seats and improved handicapped accessibility.

The event is funded by the McMillan Library Endowment Fund. The orchestra will also be presenting an educational program at Lincoln High School earlier in the day.

“As always, there are no tickets for the free event and seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. The doors will open when the Orchestra has finished their warmups. There will be an intermission with light refreshments,” a library release stated.

“McMillan is also resuming Monday Movies, starting March 7, with showings at 1:30 p.m. (captioned) and 6:30 p.m.”
