WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Prevail Bank recently donated $5,000 to Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools to help build “a destination athletic facility that will enhance to school district programming and community revenue.”
The quadplex facility will include two baseball diamonds and two softball diamonds with synthetic turf infields and outfields, stadium style seating, press boxes, concessions/restrooms and other infrastructure.
“The planning and development of this quadplex has been in the works for several years,” said Dan Guck, project co-organizer. “The School District completed an assessment of their existing athletics facilities and it showed that improvements would not only help the school district but also the community. We then began the collaboration of including other local user groups such as Legion Baseball, WRYSA and now the Redhawks.”
“We very much appreciate Prevail Bank’s contribution to this project. It is our intention that Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools be a pillar and a creator of economic stability in our community,” added Craig Broeren, superintendent at WRPS. “We already have northern Wisconsin high schools asking to rent and play on these fields so they can complete their spring sports schedule,in addition to Division 3 Colleges.”
The estimated cost of the quadplex and associated facilities is around $7.4 million.
