Child dies in Adams County drowning

ADAMS COUNTY – A five-year-old child is dead following an Adams County drowning incident.
“On June 20, 2022, at approximately 4:18 p.m., the Adams County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call advising a five-year-old went missing from the residence,” a release from Adams County Sheriff Brent York stated.
“The child was found a short time later unresponsive in a nearby pond in the 2300 block of Seventh Avenue, town of Adams.
“Responding deputies arrived on scene and immediately began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the child until relieved by Emergency Medical Services and First Responders.
“Extensive life saving measures were performed but were unsuccessful resulting in the child succumbing to his injuries.”
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Lifestar Ambulance, New Chester First Responders, UW Health Med Flight, Adams County Department of Health & Human Services, and the Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office.
This incident remains under investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
