One dead in motorcycle crash

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – One person is dead following a motorcycle crash in the city of Nekoosa.
“On June 22, 2022 at approximately 10:45 p.m., emergency services responded to a one vehicle, single rider motorcycle crash in the city of Nekoosa,” Nekoosa Police Chief Shawn Woods said in a release.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle operated by a 37-year-old Nekoosa man was traveling north on Point Basse Avenue and left the roadway approximately one-third mile north of Lynn Hill Road.
“The man was transported via Life Link helicopter to Marshfield Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.
“Agencies assisting Nekoosa Police Department were Nekoosa First Responders, Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department Paramedics, Wood County Sheriff’s Department and Wood County Rescue.”
The crash is still under investigation.
No other information is being released at this time.
