WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Just like she was in the February primary, Kathi Stebbins-Hintz was the top vote-getter in the April 4 balloting for two seats on the Wisconsin Rapids Board of Education.

Vote Election Stock

According to unofficial results, Stebbins-Hintz received 5,310 votes to win a seat being vacated by incumbent Sandra K. Hett, who decided not to seek reelection.

Incumbent John Krings received 4,881 votes to win another term on the board. He finished 600 votes ahead of third-place finisher Mike Derrie, who received 4,281 votes. Christopher D. Inda finished in fourth place with 4,035 votes.

Once the election concludes, the results are certified by a Board of Canvassers and the School District Clerk promptly issues a certificate of election to each person elected to office. Newly-elected school board members take and file the Oath of Office on or prior to the fourth Monday in April, and are officially seated on the fourth Monday in April at the board’s organizational meeting.

Meanwhile, there will be one new face on the Wisconsin Rapids Common Council this spring.

Two of the three incumbents up for reelection survived challenges in the April 4 voting.

District 1 incumbent Ryan Austin defeated challenger Keith L. Hetzel, 213-133. In District 3, incumbent Matt Zacher defeated William D. Hascall, 288-185.

Meanwhile, District 5 will have new representation. Jake J. Cattanach defeated incumbent alderperson Sheri Evanson, 213-182.

In District 7, incumbent Patrick J. Delaney was running unopposed.
