RUDOLPH — The Rudolph American Legion announces the 2024 Veteran’s Honor Walk on Main Street and Grotto Ave. in the Village of Rudolph. This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Honor Walk banners being displayed in the village to honor military veterans. This year there are 36 honorees on display in Rudolph. The banners’ “Tour of Duty” is from Memorial Day in May until Veterans Day in November.
“When the Honor Walk banners are on display, it makes the village look beautiful and complete,” says Rich Cournoyer, Post 485 Commander and Honor Walk Chair-person. “One cannot help but feel a sense of pride and have one’s heart warmed by the sight of the banners displayed on the power poles in the village. The banners were a surprise to several of the honorees this year, as they did not know that they had a banner going up in honor of their service to our country. When they saw their picture on their banner, you cannot describe the emotions that they and their families experienced.
“This year we again have veterans who prove that serving in the military is a family affair,” Cournoyer added. “It is our pleasure to honor these veterans, as well as all the veterans who served and are still serving today. This Honor Walk project is a community love affair with Veterans and their families.”
