City Awards Bid for Phase I of Riverbank Project

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — City officials have moved forward with a bid award to Janke General Contractors for Phase I of the East Riverbank Project.
The awarded bid will be in the amount of $2,688,631.75. The plan as seen some slight changes, including the removal of project railing on Second St., and the removal of the fishing jetty. Officials will seek additional funding through DNR grants for the construction of restrooms and lighting at Demitz Park.
“This is being funded partially by the carryover, the [$1.2 million dollar] stewardship grant, and the new (future) bond proceeds of $763,576 dollars.” said Finance Director Tim Desorcy.
This approval see a final step with city council next week.
