PLOVER — Receiving a culinary award, teaching local area youth, and supporting the local Boys & Girls Club — all in a days work for Chef Fred Griesbach.
In November, the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Middle Wisconsin Chefs Association teamed up with Griesbach, who is a Certified Executive Chef and ACC of Sentry World in Stevens Point. Together, they would host a culinary experience in support of the Boys & Girls Club led by Griesbach at the Sky Club in Plover.
All proceeds from the dinner went to the Boys & Girls Club for their end of the year campaign, and towards the new Boys & Girls Club building.
“Chef Fred is very involved in our surrounding area and is a former Jefferson Award Winner for serving his community.” said Boys & Girls Club Development Director Alysa Hetze. “The dinner was a six course meal; which was delicious, led by Chef Fred and the assistance of the Wisconsin Rapids Culinary Club (teen chefs).”
Griesbach went on to receive a service award from the American Culinary Federation – Middle Wisconsin Chef’s Association branch for organizing and implementing the fundraiser for the Club.
Throughout the dinner over 100 prizes were raffled off, and and the club was able to raise just shy of $1600.
