One Dead in Cranmoor Motorcycle Crash

CRANMOOR — A California man is dead after a fatal motorcycle crash on Saturday night.
According to a Wood Co. Sheriff’s Department release, at approximately 4:41 p.m. a one-vehicle crash was reported on State Highway 54, east of School Ln. in the Town of Cranmoor. A motorcycle carrying two occupants had been traveling eastbound when the driver lost control of the bike after entering the gravel portion of the road shoulder.
The driver continued onto a dirt service road for a nearby cranberry marsh and entered a ditch for a cranberry bed. The motorcycle overturned, causing both occupants to be ejected.
A female passenger, identified as 63-year-old Pamela Green of Ramona, Calif., was taken to the Marshfield Medical Center. her current condition is unknown at this time.
The driver, identified as 61-year-old Joe Green of Ramona, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene. It was concluded that helmets were not worn by either passenger.
The incident remains under investigation. Responding agencies include the Wood Co. Sheriff’s Department, Port Edwards Fire Department, Nekoosa Ambulance Service, and the Wood Co. Coroner.
