12th Annual Run the Rapids 5K for Child Abuse Prevention Announced

The 12th Annual Run the Rapids 5K Walk/Run for Child Abuse Prevention is being held Saturday Apr. 9th.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Centralia Center with a Kids Run at 9:30 a.m. The 5K event begins at 10:00 a.m. Registration forms can be found on the Run the Rapids Facebook page, website or by call 715-421-8600.

This is an annual fundraising event that benefits the Wood County Task Force on Child Abuse Prevention, which is a multidisciplinary team of professions working in the child welfare field.

Proceeds are distributed throughout Wood County and support community program and initiatives in the prevention of child abuse, sponsor two college scholarships and fund training for local professionals.
