Adams County accident leaves seven injured

ADAMS COUNTY – An Adams County accident has left seven people injured.

On Dec. 22, shortly after 8 p.m., the Adams County Sheriff’s Department was called to the scene of a two vehicle crash at the State Highway 21 and County Road Z intersection, in the township of Strongs Prairie.

According to officers, a van with seven people was headed northbound on County Highway Z when it failed to stop at the State Highway 21intersection. The van went through the intersection and was struck by a westbound semi-truck. Both vehiclesleft the roadway and came to rest in a field northwest of the intersection.

Five individuals were transported by air ambulance and two were transported by ground.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Lifestar EMS, Camp Douglas Rescue, Mauston Area Ambulance, Nekoosa Ambulance, Quincy Fire Department, Adams Fire District, Lifelink III, Gundersen Medlink Air, UW Med Flight, Harper’s Towing, and Area Wide Towing.

The investigation remains open and no names are being released at this time. No further information is available.
