Announcing the winners of the 2025 Wood County Poster Contest

Posted

WOOD COUNTY – This year marked the 20th year the Wood County Land & Water Conservation Department hosted a local conservation awareness poster contest. This contest is part of a state and national initiative where local winners proceed to the area contest, area contest winners move forward to the state contest which is held during the annual WI Land + Water Conference, and state winners then move forward to the national contest hosted by the National Association of Conservation Districts.
This year, the first-place winner was Henry Gunderman, who also advanced onto the North Central Area contest. The second-place winner was Aubree Bellanti and the third-place winner was Joey Petersen. All three winners are 5th grade students at Auburndale Elementary School.
The poster contest includes five age groups, grades K-12, with the winner of each age group advancing to the area contest. Wood County Land & Water Conservation Depertment would like to increase participation as this year they only received posters in grades 4-6. If you or someone you know is interested in submitting a poster in 2026, keep an eye on the Wood County Land &
Water Conservation website and/or the WI Land + Water website in the fall to see what 2026’s theme and contest guidelines will be.
If you have any additional questions, please contact the Wood County Land & Water Conservation Department at (715) 421-8475 or landcons@woodcountywi.gov.
