Annual Blood Drive in Memory of Allen Braund Slated for Jan. 6

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- The Blood Center of Wisconsin and friends and family of Allen Braund have announced the sixth annual Memorial Blood Drive in memory of Allen Braund.

Walk-ins are welcome. Refreshments will be served, and according to a press release, there will be “great refrshments, great people, great energy”.

Past Allen Braund Memorial blood drives have contributed some 300 units of blood and plasma for the Blood Center of Wisconsin, the sole provider of blood to 57 hospitals in Wisconsin, including St. Michael’s in Stevens Point.

"Allen Braund (1954-2012) was a beloved man known by his exuding of charisma through kindness. Allen passed away from leukemia in January 2012. He had had numerous blood and platelet transfusions. Braun’s family and friends hold the Memorial Blood Drive every year because they see it as a means of giving life and kindness to others that will live forever."
