Aspirus earns wound care Center of Distinction award

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital is one of two Aspirus facilities to receive the Distinction Award for Excellence in Wound Care. It shares the recognition with Aspirus St. Luke’s Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center, which was also honored for its strong performance in patient satisfaction and wound healing outcomes. Together, the two facilities exemplify Aspirus Health’s system-wide dedication to excellence in wound care.
The Center of Distinction Award is reserved for Wound Care Centers that meet or exceed rigorous quality benchmarks set by HEALOGICS, Aspirus officials said in a news release. Over the past year, the Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Wound and Hyperbarics achieved outstanding results, including a patient satisfaction score of 95.81 percent, a comprehensive healing rate of 79.50 percent and an outlier rate of just 6.72 percent.
“This award is a powerful acknowledgment of our team’s commitment and expertise,” said Athena Boardman, Clinical Program Director at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital. “It affirms our mission to improve our patients’ quality of life through compassionate, individualized care. It also validates the daily efforts of our entire team and underscores the importance of collaboration, persistence, and clinical excellence in everything we do.”
The facility provides specialized treatment for chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and post-surgical wounds.
