WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Assumption girls basketball defeated Port Edwards, after holding them to only four points in the first half.
Assumption hosted Port Edwards on Jan. 3 in a non conference game. Assumption wasted no time building their lead and went into the locker room at the half with a 28-4 lead. The second half was much of the same with Assumption winning the game 69-15.
Leading scorers for Assumption were Madalyn Bohn, with 15, and Jessie Grundhoffer, with 11.
Port Edwards' Taylor Martin scored 12 of their 15 points.
Port Edwards will travel to Plainfield on Jan. 7, to face Tri-County. Assumption will host a conference game against Stratford on Jan. 7.
