WOOD COUNTY – Three members of Auburndale High School’s DECA Chapter will be advancing to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida. Seniors Alexis Fait and McKenzie Keuffer and Junior Jasmine Draeger will join over 20,000 high school business students from the United States and Canada.
DECA is an organization of almost 300,000 students that is dedicated to preparing students for future careers in business, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Students compete in one of 40 career related events. Competitions involve taking industry related exams, research projects and developing/presenting solutions to current business problems.
Alexis Fait will be representing Auburndale in the Food Marketing Series. This is Fait’s second trip to international competitions. She will be looking to build on her medal level performance from last year. Fait is the first Auburndale student to ever medal at the international level of competitions.
Jasmine Draeger is in the Human Resource Management Series. McKenzie Keuffer will be representing Auburndale in the Leadership Development Academy.
The Auburndale DECA Chapter is advised by Mr. David Jicinsky.
