For the Rapids City Times
Wisconsin Rapids — The Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce continues to be a resource for local businesses and community members after the devastation from the July 20 storm.
Central Wisconsin was seriously impacted by property damage, flooding, blocked roads, and power outages.
In response to support local businesses and the community, the Heart of Wisconsin quickly began communicating information to the public regarding updates in the area through our Facebook page and website.
The Heart of Wisconsin team mobilized early that Monday morning and visited area businesses during the week to verify operations in a strategic plan to post key updates as businesses reopened after power was restored. In addition, the Heart of Wisconsin sent multiple communications as they were released from Wisconsin Rapids Water Works & Lighting Commission, Alliant Energy, City of Wisconsin Rapids, and Wood County.
“As Central Wisconsin continues to recover the Heart of Wisconsin will continue its efforts to support the local communities. We encourage businesses to reach out to the Chamber so we may direct them to resources that they need to continue to do business,” stated Heart of Wisconsin president, Angel Whitehead. “Additionally, we want to thank all the utility lineman, emergency service personnel, electricians, municipalities, local businesses, volunteers and many others for helping the recovery efforts in our wonderful community. “
The Heart of Wisconsin will provide information on businesses, and the community, as they become available. If you have updates on businesses, community efforts, or volunteer needs please call the chamber at 715-423-1830.
