Cultural Center puts out call for art

Posted

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Central Wisconsin Cultural Center (CWCC) is accepting original artwork for its upcoming exhibition, “Art of the Book.”
CWCC is asking participants to create art that is inspired by a published book. Participants might find inspiration in the title, the book’s purpose or by personal meaning, a character in the book, an emotion it creates, or historical significance.
The “Art of the Book” exhibit is open to all emerging and established artists. All media will be considered, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, fiber and more. The entry form can be found at CulturalCenterArts.com/exhibits.
Artists may submit up to three original 2D or 3D art pieces that have never been in Cultural Center exhibits, gift shop or holiday show. Entries will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 1 through 3. The entry fee is $10 per artist. It is preferred that the art pieces be for sale.
There will be an opening night meet-the-artist reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m. July 10, and the exhibit will run that day through Aug. 28. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, or by appointment.
For more information, go to CulturalCenterArts.com or call 715.421.4598.
