WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Central Wisconsin Cultural Center has raised an additional $30,000, to match the $30,000 offered by an anonymous benefactor.
“We’re delighted to report that our community came together to raise more than $30,000,” Executive Directors Mary Olson and Carol Davis said. “We’re grateful for the many contributions and for everyone who has stopped in at our new location. During these very trying times of COVID-19, every contribution is critical in supporting the Cultural Center’s work.”
Contributions will be used for the Cultural Center’s Phase 2 Patio & Art Garden, and expanding creative art classes, exhibits, and music offerings.
Current exhibits and events at the Cultural Center from now through Dec. 19 feature local artist Jeanne Weymouth’s exhibit, Thread, Papers, Paints and Whimsy: A Collection of Imperfect Creatures & Colorful Characters. The Center’s “Holiday Gifts & Art Fair,” featuring local artists’ work, including accessories, candles, artwork, apparel, home decor, jewelry, and more is also open through Dec. 19.
The Cultural Center recently moved to, and renovated, the former WoodTrust Bank building at 2651 Eighth St., Wisconsin Rapids, between Culvers and Goodwill.
