Edgar, Pittsville baseball teams earn trips to state

MARSHFIELD – Two local Division 4 teams are headed to the state baseball tournament after defeating their opponents on Tuesday, June 10.

The Pittsville Panthers took down Blair-Taylor, edging past them 2-1  then cruising past Highland 13-3 in just five innings and earning the sectional title.

Also heading to state are the Edgar Wildcats after downing Rib Lake 8-1 and Solon Springs/Northwood 14-1 in the sectional final.

Tuesday's games will be at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton.

The schedule:

Semifinals - Tuesday, June 17 - 9:00 a.m.

• Game 1 - #2 Seed vs. #3 Seed
• Game 2 - #1 Seed vs. #4 Seed

Championship - Thursday, June 19 - 9:00 a.m.

• Game 3 - Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2
