First Bank promotes Marshfield man to VP

MARSHFIELD – A Marshfield man is now the vice president, business banker at First State Bank.

Derek Blanchard, who was a senior credit analyst, brings his expertise in credit analysis and customer-focused financial strategy to this new client-facing role, First State said in a release.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to step into this new role and continue growing with First State Bank,” Blanchard said. “I look forward to working more directly with our business clients and help them achieve their financial goals.”

Since joining First State in 2022, Derek has played a key role in evaluating credit risk and supporting the bank’s lending initiatives. In his new position, he will partner directly with local businesses to provide tailored banking solutions, including commercial lending, cash management and strategic financial planning.

“Derek has a keen understanding of the financial challenges and opportunities our clients face,” said Jason Wery, executive vice president and chief banking officer at First State. “We are excited to see him step into this new role and deliver exceptional, relationship-based service to the businesses that drive our community’s economy.”

Blanchard lives in Marshfield with his wife, Nicole, and four sons – Dominick, 14; Deacon, 12; Dax, 5; and Damon,2. He enjoys golfing and coaching track and field at Marshfield Middle School. He is also the head coach of Hub City Track Club in Marshfield.
