From employees to communities: 75 Domtar $2K Your Way grants create local impact

Posted

NEKOOSA – Domtar’s $2K Your Way program is a pillar of the company’s community investment program, providing employees with the opportunity to apply for $2,000 grants they can then put to work supporting charitable causes in their communities. Through this program, employees apply for grants on behalf of charitable organizations they are passionate about, helping direct support to causes that strengthen the communities where they live and work. Domtar says the program reflects their commitment to making a positive impact through projects focused on education and literacy, environmental sustainability and humanitarian needs.
Recently, 75 Domtar employees across North America decided to put $150,000 into the hands of local community organizations, funding projects in which they are personally engaged. Six organizations associated with Domtar’s Wisconsin operations via its Rothschild and Nekoosa mills were supported, including:
• Immanuel Lutheran School’s Kindness Club
• Ice Age Trail Alliance
• Nekoosa Fire Department

• Alternate Housing of Hope
• Public Library of Vesper
• Jolene’s Angels
Domtar’s $2K Your Way program aims to directly supports employee engagement at the local level, relying on active employee participation in identifying causes and projects that matter to them and providing company financial support to spur meaningful local action.
“Caring is one of our company values, and the $2K Your Way program puts caring into action,” said Seth Kursman, vice president, U.S. Public Affairs and Global External Communications. “This year’s strong participation highlights our people’s commitment to making a difference in communities where they work and live.”
