Furniture Plus to Convert to WG&R Express

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- Furniture Plus in Wis. Rapids will be getting a new name; and a new home.

Owned by WG&R Furniture, the store will be now known as WG&R Express. This week, they make the shift from their current location on 2111 Eighth St. South into the vacated Staples building, 2211 Eighth St. South. However, the re-branding isn't just in the name, as the store will bring a new concept to the furniture industry.

“No longer will customers have to wait days or weeks to have their furniture or mattress delivered,” said Jim Greene, WG&R President in a news release. “Everything we have in the WG&R Express stores will be available for immediate pickup or next day delivery. This is a fundamental change that is the result of changing expectations of today’s consumers in terms of how long they are willing to wait for a product.”

Expectant customers can see the shift as soon as this Thursday. According to Greene, WG&R Express customers will be able to have access to WG&R's full furniture and mattress lineup online. These changes will also affect the Stevens Point and Wausau locations. (5474 Highway 10 East, 1815 Steward Ave.)

W&R Furniture employs over 260 people in the central Wisconsin area. For more information, please visit wgrexpress.com
