Posted

NEILSVILLE – The Highground Veterans Memorial Park will hold a Community and Military Outreach – or CAMO – Program on Wednesday, May 14, beginning at 4 p.m.

The CAMO offers veteran and community resources, as well as hands-on workshops and information on holistic ways to keep your mind happy and healthy.

Attendees will have the chance to engage with professionals and explore pathways for support, including offerings from the La Crosse Vet Center, Strides Equestrian Center, Christine Center, Off The Mat Yoga and more.

At 5 p.m., Chris Pettis, executive director of The Highground, will offer a presentation focusing on identifying warning signs of emotional crisis and the steps to take in a crisis situation. Pettis aims to equip attendees with actionable strategies to help themselves or someone in need during challenging times, including suicide awareness and prevention.

At 7 p.m., there will be a drum circle in the Christine Center.

For more information, send email to Bonnie Pettis at donations@thehighground.org or Theresa Hebert at museum@thehighground.org, or call us at (715) 743-4224.
