Huddle Up Group to present Wisconsin Rapids Area sports tourism study results, recommendations

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Area Sports Tourism Strategic Planning Study presentation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 8 a.m. in the Riverside Ballroom at Hotel Mead Resort and Convention Center. The public is welcome and there is no admission fee.
Beginning in the fall of 2025, the City of Wisconsin Rapids, the Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools and Wood County selected the Huddle Up Group, a leader in the sports tourism industry, to serve as consultants for the study. Nationally recognized, the Huddle Up Group has led or contributed to award-winning sports commissions, Olympic Games, youth tournaments, national championship management and new event creation. The business expands on its name: “A huddle brings together the perspectives, experiences and knowledge of like-minded people working toward a common goal.”
According to the Wis. Rapids Area CVB, the business has a proven track record of guiding communities and organizations through sports-focused development, growth planning and stakeholder alignment that build cohesive and sustainable sports tourism ecosystems.
Using data from the locally distributed survey of sports organizations and community members, stakeholder interviews, on-site inventory assessments and the Sports Tourism Index™, the Huddle Up Group will present its findings, benchmarking and recommendations — the “Playbook.”
“The Wisconsin Rapids area is powered by over 40 active sports organizations that contribute millions of dollars to our local economy each year,” Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau President Adam Estes said. “By understanding our strengths, challenges and market opportunities, we can plan intentionally and collaborate with partners to build an even more successful future.”
Hotel Mead is located at 451 East Grand Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids. The sports tourism study presentation will begin at 8 a.m. and is anticipated to last under two hours.
