Industrial Distributor Headed to Industrial Park

The West Side Industrial Park of Wisconsin Rapid will soon see a new face.

At a meeting of the Common Council on July 21, a site plan was unanimously approved for construction of a new warehouse style building located at 2211 Industrial St. in the West Side Industrial Park. The address is located between G&K Services and Crescent Electric Supply.

Director of Planning and Economic Development Adam Tegen said that the exact tenant of the new building is not known but it is expected to house and industrial parts distributor.

"I'd keep that confidential right now," said Tom Altmann, Vice President of Rapids-based Altmann Construction.

The building is expected to cost about $350,000, the minimum required investment for construction in the industrial park.

An exact start date on construction is not set but but Altmann said that it will begin as soon as the purchase of the land parcel is complete.

"We'll be complete in the fall," said Altmann.
