Jean R. Hobbick, age 73, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 28, 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 5, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Revs. Valentine Joseph and William Menzel will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Vincent de Paul Church on Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids following the funeral mass. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family. Jean was born on Friday November 13, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Elliott and Elizabeth Villeneuve. She was a 1960 graduate of Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids. She married C. Jack Hobbick on November 23, 1963 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. They were blessed with three children James (Jim), Joan and Julie.

Jean was employed by Butler Paper Company and Wood County Department of Social Services for over 30 years. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America for 55 years and was also a Girl Scout Leader.

She loved to go camping, playing cribbage, card games of all sorts that sometimes ended up as slumber parties, going out for Friday fish fries, puzzles, playing bingo, going snowmobiling with the family, knitting, crocheting, gardening, bowling, traveling around the world, baking, gambling and attending/being active in the Catholic Church as a greeter. A great passion of Jean's was watching Survivor and Duck Dynasty surrounded by her family on Wednesday evenings. She held a special place in her heart for her kitties. Jean was a 13 year survivor ofbreast cancer.

Jean is survived by her husband of 52 years C. Jack Hobbick, two daughters Joan Garcia and Julie (Bob) Erdman; grandchildren Heather Vancl, Alyssa and Brock Erdman all of Wisconsin Rapids; mother Elizabeth Villeneuve of Wisconsin Rapids; brothers Allen (Rita) Villeneuve of Wisconsin Rapids and Dale (Patty) Villeneuve of Saukville, WI; sisters-in-law Linda Hobbick of Hendersonville, NC, Irene Goss of Eau Claire, WI. and Viola Hobbick of Wisconsin Rapids. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and god-children.

Jean is preceded in death by her beloved son James Michael Hobbick, father Elliott Villeneuve, son-in-law Miguel Garcia, brothers-in-law Jim (Ann) Hobbick, Francis Hobbick, Patrick Hobbick and Arbor Goss, sister-in-law Lorraine (Elwood) Manor.

She was a great mom, a loving, caring and devoted wife, an amazing grandma that kept life interesting for all her family and friends. She will be missed by all that knew her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bradley Boettcher, Aspirus Riverview Hospital and Heartland Enriching Life Hospice Care for their loving care given to Jean.
