For the Rapids City Times
BABCOCK – Jeremiah’s Crossing will hold its annual Family Fun Fest weekend Aug. 18-19 at Dexter Park.
Saturday’s events will feature a vendor and craft fair, a car show with classic and custom vehicles, food, music by Rumours – a classic rock/variety rock band, raffles, and children’s games.
On Sunday, the festival moves to Jeremiah’s Crossing Ranch for an open house event. The public is invited to come see the ranch and watch riders participate in the annual ride-a-thon, showcasing skills students have been focusing on during lessons. There will be a parade of horses, raffles, fun activities for the kids, and food – including the “Great BBQ Cook-Off” – an open competition.
Jeremiah’s Crossing is a nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding ranch, providing lessons at no cost to children and adults with special needs. Activities are supported through fundraising and grant opportunities.
The event will be held Aug. 18, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at Dexter Park, corner of Highways 80 and 54 just south of Pittsville, and Aug. 19, 1-5 p.m., at Jeremiah’s Crossing Ranch, 2440 County Hwy X, Babcock.
