WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Lincoln High School Boys Swim Team faced off against La Crosse Logan in an exciting meet, with a final score of 100 points to LHS 68. While the meet resulted in a loss, it was a night full of victories in personal records (PRs), thrilling comebacks, and individual event wins that left us celebrating our team’s resilience and growth.
Jose De La Cruz Chi, Brycen Henslin, Jathan Bessent and Joshua Glenzer-Czenczek took first in the 200 Medly Relay with a final time of 2:02.86.
Jathan Bessent claimed first place in the 100 Freestyle with an impressive time of 1:03.90.
Jose De La Cruz Chi also secured first place in the 100 Backstroke, finishing strong with a time of 1:11.33.
One of the standout moments of the night came in the 200 Boys Freestyle Relay, where the team of Erik Michalsen, Preston Engelbright, David Lee, and Jose De La Cruz Chi pulled off a remarkable upset. After a back-and-forth battle for second and third place, LHS surged ahead, securing second place in a thrilling finish that showcased their determination and teamwork.
Additionally, Jonathan Duerr, a sophomore, stepped up to the challenge in the grueling 500 Freestyle. Despite this being his first official attempt in the event, he shattered his practice time of 8:23.60, finishing with an outstanding time of 7:41.00.
