DES MOINES, IOWA – Four Wisconsin Rapids elementary students traveled to Des Moine Iowa and the AAU Junior Olympic Games last week.
Physical education teacher Justin Weinhold said the students, Maebel Strehlau, Tristan Cashin, Bradley DeFilippis and Jackson Stoflet competed in sport stacking and placed in various events. The students moved on to the Olympics after participating at a local competition in March.
Maebel Strehlau (Woodside Elementary) competed in the age 9-10 female division
3-3-3 pattern (sixth place) with a time of 4.066 seconds
3-6-3 pattern (second place) with a time of 4.775 seconds
Shorties 6-3-6 pattern (third place) with a time of 6.384 seconds
All around (fifth place) with a time of 24.864 seconds.
Tristan Cashin (Mead Elementary) competed in the special stackers division age 7-10
3-3-3 pattern (second place) with a time of 7.034 seconds
3-6-3 pattern (second place) with a time of 13.510 seconds
Cycle pattern (second place) with a time of 62.643 seconds
Shorties 6-3-6 pattern (second place) with a time of 12.929 seconds
Timed 3-6-3 Relay -14 under special stacker division (first place) with a time of 49.621 seconds
Bradley DeFilippis (Woodside Elementary) competed in the age 10 male division
3-6-3 pattern preliminary round (12th place) with a time of 6.745 seconds
Cycle pattern preliminary round (15th place) with a time of 21.307 seconds
Shorties 6-3-6 pattern (eighth place) with a time of 6.726 seconds
Partner cycle (72nd place) with a time of 21.646 seconds
Also participated in a timed 3-6-3 relay that ranked 30th with a time of 30.909 second
