The critically acclaimed and award winning documentary "Merchants of Doubt" will be shown at McMillan Library on Tuesday, Jun. 16.
This presentation is by the Mayor's Council on Sustainability and co-sponsored by McMillan Library. The description is as follows:
"Inspired by the acclaimed book by Naomi Oreskes and Erik Conway, Merchants of Doubt takes audiences on a satirically comedic, yet illuminating ride into the heart of conjuring American spin. Filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the curtain on a secretive group of highly charismatic, silver-tongued pundits-for-hire who present themselves in the media as scientific authorities - yet have the contrary aim of spreading maximum confusion about well-studied public threats ranging from toxic chemicals to pharmaceuticals to climate change." -- Description courtesy McMillan Library
This screening will be shown at 7:00 p.m. inside the Fine Arts Center. For more information please call 715-422-5136. The McMillan Library is located at 490 E. Grand Ave.
