WISCONSIN RAPIDS – In celebration of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, Mid-State Technical College is asking the community for help to name its state-of-the-art robotic dog.
Students, community members and industry professionals are invited to stop into Mid-State on Central or the Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship (AMETA™) Center to meet the dog and select a name that fits. Nominations can be submitted in-person on the following dates:
Mid-State on Central: Saturday, Feb. 1 - Saturday, Feb. 8
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 12 – 6:00 p.m.
AMETA Center: Monday, Feb. 10 – Friday, Feb. 28
Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The currently unnamed quadruped robot showcases the future of automation and technology. The robotic dog is used in the Civil Engineering Technology-Highway Technician program and can build 3D maps using its drone-like capabilities. It can perform a variety of tricks, including sitting, waving, rolling over and even doing flips. Visitors will have the chance to see the robotic dog’s impressive skills for themselves.
