Nekoosa Couple Faces Drug Charges After Police Search

Two have been charged with drug paaraphernaila, with one charged for narcotic possession after a police search uncovered illegal substances.

Mandi Jansa, 39, and Michael Brost, 30, are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with Jansa charged with possession of narcotics.

According to police reports on Jul. 1, a search warrant was executed on the 800 block of Point Basse Ave. in Nekoosa. Officers discovered heroin and multiple drug paraphernalia items in the bedroom of Jansa and Brost, found in a purse that held multiple baggies containing a brown powdery substance.

Also found was a digital scale, three metal spoons, needles, syringes and cotton balls.

Officers found more drug paraphernalia spread around the house, including Naxolone, a drug that blocks or reverses the effects of opiods to treat an overdose. Jansa allegedly admitted to both her and Brost using heroin.

If convicted, Jansa faces up to three years and six months imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines. Brost faces thirty days in jail and up to $500 in fines.

Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jul. 14.
