WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Nekoosa High School boys basketball team fell at Westfield in its South Central Conference opener on Dec. 12.
Westfield(5-0, 1-0) took a 40-29 lead into halftime, and outscored Nekoosa 33-18 in the second half to win 73-47.
Aaron Merrit scored 20 points and Jace Lobner had eight points to lead Nekoosa (1-2, 0-1).
“Westfieldshot very well in the first half,” said Nekoosa boys basketball head coach Steven Genrich. “Nekoosa made some runs early in the second half but struggled shooting around the rim.”
