MAUSTON – The Nekoosa football team took a loss from Mauston, during an Oct. 4 South Central Conference matchup at Mauston High School.
Nekoosa scored first on the night, when Klayton Havlovic earned a four-yard touchdown run, but Mauston paired that with a touchdown of their own, and an extra point, to end the quarter 7-6 Mauston.
It was all Mauston after that, as they went on to beat the Papermakers 23-6.
Trent Waltenberg led Nekoosa in rushing with 34 yards, andCorderoYsquierdo led in receiving with nine.
Nekoosa next travels to Wisconsin Dells on Oct. 11. Nekoosa is 2-3 in conference play.
