Nepco Lake celebrates centennial with community bash

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Nepco Lake District and Central Wisconsin Cultural Center will host the Nepco Lake Centennial Bash from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Nepco Lake County Park, 1410 Griffith Ave.
The free community event celebrates 100 years of the lake with live music by Southbound, food trucks, a beer and wine tent, raffle baskets and a lake history scavenger hunt.
The celebration brings together “two vital forces: the restorative power of nature and the transformative impact of the arts,” organizers said in a news release.
Attendees can watch plein air painters create artwork on-site, capturing the lake’s natural beauty in real time. Families will find hands-on art stations and face painting by Cheeky Facepainting, ensuring activities for all ages.
Food will be available for purchase from local vendors including Yum House, RoRo’s Kitchen, Syd’s Scoops and Peeps Food Truck. A cash bar will offer beer and wine throughout the afternoon.

Organizers suggest visitors bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the lakeside setting comfortably.
Proceeds from the celebration will support ongoing environmental conservation efforts by the Nepco Lake District and arts programming through the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center. Both organizations work to strengthen community well-being through their respective missions.
