NEW: Police Seeking Saturday Shooting Suspect

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department is seeking the suspect of a shooting early Saturday morning.

The WRPD is seeking 28-year-old Leonard L. Hale, the suspected shooter.

According to the WRPD, they were called to Big Al's Tavern on Second Street North at about 12:30 AM on December 12 in response to a reported shooting. The suspect and victim had already left the tavern when police arrived.

Police were able to locate the 21-year-old victim who had a non life-threatening bullet wound to his back. The victim was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital and treated.

Hale's permanent address is in Milwaukee but has been seen in Wisconsin Rapids for some time.

Police say there is no danger to the general public and believe the shooting was the result a dispute between the shooter and victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
