WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Olio Arts & Music Center will be accepting original artwork for its upcoming exhibitions, “Hidden in Plain Sight” and “The Essence of Wood as Material & Muse.”
Hidden in Plain Sight invites artists to create pieces revealing objects or images you might not see on the surface. At first glance, the works in this exhibition may appear familiar, simple or straightforward — but with time and attention, something else begins to emerge. Subtle details, layered meanings and quiet surprises show themselves, transforming the way the work is understood. This exhibition celebrates art that rewards curiosity and careful observation. Through illusion, symbolism, hidden imagery or unexpected materials, artists are encouraged to challenge perception and reveal deeper stories beneath the surface. We invite artists to submit up to five works that invites viewers to pause, look again and discover something they might not have noticed at first glance — reminding us that some of the most compelling discoveries are the ones quietly waiting to be found.
